Echo: YouTube Live Chat Replay Downloader, Search & Export — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
Echo is a browser extension that loads, searches and exports the live chat replay of the YouTube stream you are watching. This policy says what it does with data.
What Echo handles
- The chat of the stream you open. Echo loads the stream’s public chat replay from YouTube, the same way the YouTube page does. It stays in your browser tab and is gone when you leave the video. It is saved only to a file you export yourself.
- Purchase status. If you buy Echo Pro, the extension keeps a key and your purchase status in your browser’s extension storage so that Pro stays unlocked.
- How many times you exported. Echo counts your exports in the same storage, only to ask once, after the second, whether you would review it on the Chrome Web Store. The count never leaves your browser.
Echo has no servers of its own. It collects no browsing history, no analytics and no personal data, and it reads no site other than youtube.com and extensionpay.com.
Payments
Echo Pro is sold through ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), which uses Stripe for the payment. When you buy, ExtensionPay collects your email address and Stripe collects your payment details. The extension never sees your card. ExtensionPay (https://extensionpay.com) and Stripe (https://stripe.com/privacy) are responsible for that data.
Sharing
Echo does not sell or share data with anyone, and does not use it for anything but the features above.
