NoteFill: Endnotes for Google Docs™
NoteFill is an add-on for Google Docs™ that adds numbered endnotes. It puts a reference where the cursor is and lists the note under an Endnotes heading at the end of the document or of each tab. The two are linked both ways and renumbered as you edit.
- Insert an endnote: the next number goes at the cursor and the note joins the list. Type its text in the sidebar, or type it in the list, where the cursor goes for you.
- Renumbered as you edit: after you move or delete text, Renumber puts every number and note back in order. A note cited twice shares its number.
- Linked both ways: a reference goes to its note, and the note’s number goes back to the text, across document tabs too. Docs shows a small blue bookmark marker at each end while you edit; the markers do not print.
- Footnotes to endnotes: every footnote in the document becomes an endnote in one step, its text kept. Conversion goes one way, from footnotes to endnotes.
- Your layout: real endnotes with Pages layout, page numbers and headers kept. You choose superscript numbers or [1] in brackets, your own heading, the notes on a new page, and one list or one per tab.
