Upload multiple images to Google Slides™ from your computer
For a few pictures, Google Slides™ already has Insert > Image > Upload from computer. Add and arrange the pictures yourself; you may not need an add-on. Google’s image-insertion instructions explain that free option.
If you want an ordered batch on new slides, PhotoFill lets you select local JPEG/PNG files and check the layout before importing. I make PhotoFill. The steps below match the actual local-image video tutorial: two synthetic PNGs, reordered and placed side by side on one new slide. The video does not demonstrate Google Photos™ or Drive selection.
Try the two-image starter ZIP if you do not have pictures ready. Unzip it and follow the README or the steps below: Two per slide, with 02 teal before 01 ochre. The expected new slide has 02 on the left and 01 on the right, matching the video.
Select, reorder and preview
- Install PhotoFill from its product page, open your presentation and choose Extensions > PhotoFill > Open PhotoFill. Check the Google account shown in the sidebar.
- Under Or select local JPEG / PNG files, choose your images from your computer. For a small first try, select two files whose contents are easy to distinguish.
- Use the earlier/later arrows beside the file names to put them in the intended order. In the video, image 02 is moved before image 01.
- Choose Two per slide and check the real layout preview. For the video’s example, use Caption: None and a white background. Selecting and previewing do not add slides.
- Check the full selection and remaining allowance, then click the import action labelled with your account once. Wait for completion and inspect the new slide: the example has 02 on the left and 01 on the right. New slides go after the slide you were on.
Local files supply no photo date to PhotoFill. Use manual or File name order; date ordering and date captions cannot recover capture dates from these uploads.
A completed saved-import message can describe a previous job while you preview a new selection. Check the new job’s completion and the actual slide, rather than treating that old message as the result of your preview. Preview thumbnails also have less detail than the inserted images.
Files, allowance and interrupted imports
- Use JPEG or PNG, up to 50 MB per local file and 500 images per job. Convert HEIC and other unsupported formats first. Local images are resized in your browser to a maximum 3840-pixel long side, or 2560 with Lighter file selected.
- New users get 12 successful photo insertions free in total, with every layout. Existing users retain 30/day. A $4.99 seven-day Pro pass is one payment with no renewal; see current plans for subscriptions. The whole selection is checked before starting: choose fewer images or get Pro if it exceeds the remaining free allowance.
- If the import is interrupted or its outcome is unclear, reopen PhotoFill in the same presentation and check its saved job before retrying. Recovery is offered for seven days; after browser closure, select the same original local files again to continue. Completed images are preserved. If PhotoFill cannot safely identify a partial object, follow its cleanup message before retrying. Do not start a second import merely because a response was delayed.
Google service limits still apply to paid use. Check the finished slides before presenting. For account trouble, use the single-account troubleshooting guide.
